Build a Musical Band
We had to create 3 musical instruments that have to play all 7 notes. Also we had to make a google document describing how each instrument worked. Also we had to create a song that we sing or rap and use each instrument in it at one point or another. My group made a flute, guitar, and chimes. The flute worked very well but the guitar and chimes weren't very distinct in each note. So we had to fix them to make them work.
Concepts
Wavelength- distance from crest to crest which is measured in meters. Wavelength is found in all instruments.
Frequency- how often vibration occurs in hertz(hz). It's equation in cycles per second.
Amplitude- distance from midpoint to crest(or trough), max displacement from equalibrium.
Wave speed = wave length x frequency
Notes are based on frequency and wavelength. The higher the note the smaller the wavelength. You can increase frequency by tying the sting to make it vibrate faster which results in a higher note or sound.

Reflection
The project was great. I gained the skills of writing, learning, and singing songs while using an instrument. I loved writing the rap song and practicing it while I had a break. It was fun taking a break and increasing the creativity side of my brain. Also I tested my limits in terms of creativity while building each individual instrument. It was hard because I'm not that talented in music and I'm very happy that I persevered. I think hearing each one work (after lots of fixing) well making every struggle worth it.
There was barely anything wrong with this unit. I could've helped a little more with the math calculations to find each wavelength. This way I could've better understood the math and physics behind the unit. Also I felt like I should have been more assertive when presenting in front of the class. I had ideas but I wouldn't have been able to say it while making sense. Also I should learn the last note better and without error to avoid some awkward silence while I was failing at a note.
All together this was a fun unit, but at the same time helped me learn a lot of subjects that are crucial to the daily life of a scientist.
